I sat in the basement watching the highlights of the basketball games on sports center while smoking a blunt. I had some shit on my mind that wasn't sitting right with me and no matter how much I tried not to pay that shit no mind, it kept eating at me.

We touched down in Philly and decided to stay at my mom’s house since everything was still in order here. The kids had their own rooms and we stayed in the master bedroom.

It felt good being back home. A few niggas that Jamier and I used to run with were still around but a lot of them were either doing a bid or dead. I also noticed a few new faces on the block that I didn't pay any attention to.

My niggas showed mad love and gave me props on the success of both of my businesses. The employees at the restaurant were happy to have me back even if it was only for a few months. The business was doing better than I expected. We were still in the top five of best restaurants in Philly, all of my staff was still there, my regular customers were still around, and a lot of new customers were coming through on an everyday basis. Everything was going great until I got the news that a hating ass niggas had it out for me.

I was coming home from work when one of my niggas told me that a rumor was going around that niggas heard about how well I was doing and was going to stick me up. He told me that these niggas were from North Philly and they were on some come up shit. I told him to keep me posted if he heard anything else and good looking out for the heads up.

Since then, I stayed strapped. I kept my Desert Eagle underneath the driver seat, the G36C in the office of the restaurant and the mini Uzi in the basement at the crib. If niggas were coming for me, I was going to give them niggas something they could feel. I constantly checked my surrounds so I wouldn't get caught slipping and I didn't take this situation lightly.

It was a week later and today was the surprise baby shower for Tenayla which was hours away. I finished my blunt and ended up dozing off to sleep in the basement.

A few hours later, I woke up to Tenayla calling for me at the top of her lungs causing me to jump up and run to her aid.

“Kenyon!!”

“Yes bae? What’s wrong?” I stumbled into the room.

“Why you leave me up here by myself?” she asked as she leaned against the dresser holding her stomach.

“I’m sorry bae. I was in the basement. I was smoking and fell asleep.” I helped her back into the bed. “Are you okay? Why are you holding your stomach?” I asked as she slowly sat down on the bed.

“There’s a pain in my stomach but it’ll go away or at least I hope it will.
